A pop-up stand is a piece of kit, not just a print: it gets carried, assembled by whoever is free, packed down in a hurry and used again next quarter. Which is why the frame and the fabric matter as much as the artwork, and why the honest recommendation depends on how often you exhibit.
What you get, and how fast
| Type | Same day | Overnight, ready before 9am | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cassette banner stand, 85 × 200 cm | Yes | Yes | Lightest and fastest — stand, pole, bag |
| Fabric tension display | Subject to capacity | Yes | Premium finish, frame reusable — fabric displays |
| Wide or double-sided display | Subject to capacity | Yes | Confirm the size with the file |
| Replacement graphic for an existing frame | Yes | Yes | Say the make and width |
Which system should you choose?
| Consideration | Cassette banner (vinyl) | Fabric tension display |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | Lower | Higher up front, cheaper per campaign afterwards |
| Set-up | Seconds, one person | Fast; frame clips together |
| Finish | Good | Premium — richer colour, no shine |
| Repeated use | Vinyl can curl at the edges over many shows | Fabric stays flat; frame is reused |
| Best for | One-off events and tight deadlines | Regular exhibitors and wide backdrops |
The pattern from the production floor: exhibit once or twice a year and a cassette banner is the sensible answer; exhibit monthly and the fabric frame pays for itself, because each new campaign is only a fresh fabric print. The full comparison is in the roll-up versus pull-up guide.
How many times can you re-skin a frame?
As many times as the campaign changes — that is the whole economic case for a frame. The graphic is the consumable; the structure is not. In practice companies re-skin when the brand refreshes, when a product launches, or when a message is dated, and keep the same frame for years. Bring us the make and width of what you own and we print to fit. If the deadline is tomorrow rather than next quarter, same-day and overnight production covers it.
Delivery to shows and offices
Delivery runs to offices, hotels, event spaces and venues across London — ExCeL and Olympia are among the most regular, timed for the build-up. Express runs into EC1–EC4, W1, WC1–WC2, E14 and SW1 take about an hour from dispatch.
Stands travel complete, in their bags. If the display is part of a bigger set-up — panels, boards, a printed tablecloth — everything can go on one run: see exhibition stand printing.
Technical file specifications
| Setting | What we need |
|---|---|
| Format | Print-ready PDF (PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-4 preferred) |
| Size | Final artwork size for the system — 85 × 200 cm as standard on cassette stands |
| Colour | CMYK, not RGB |
| Resolution | 150 dpi at full size minimum |
| Bleed | 3 mm all round on cassette banners; 5–10 mm on tension-fabric systems |
| Safe area | Nothing critical near the bottom of a cassette design — that stretch rolls into the base |
| Fonts | Outlined or fully embedded |
Send the file to info@silverimagelondon.com with the size, the deadline and the delivery address — or use WeTransfer for anything large. A problem spotted at 21:00 costs nothing; the same problem at 07:00 costs the deadline, so thirty seconds in our free preflight checker is worth it — it reads the file in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
