The symbols above show the category form — the shape and colour that carry the meaning. They are illustrations, not the certified artwork: your sign is printed from the ISO 7010 pictogram you supply, and the on-screen colours here are approximations of the ISO 3864 safety colours rather than production values.
Most reprints happen because the wrong material went outside, not because the artwork was wrong. Correx is the site material. It is fluted polypropylene — waterproof, light, cheap enough to treat as consumable, and it takes a cable tie through the flute without tearing. Rated 6 to 12 months outdoors, which is the right lifespan for a compound that will move before the year is out.
Foamex is the indoor and sheltered board. Rigid, flat, and it stays flat, which matters for a notice board or a wall-fixed permit display. It is not an outdoor material in an exposed London winter, and putting it on a perimeter fence is the most common way to end up printing the job twice.
Dibond is what goes on a building. Aluminium composite, rated 5 to 10 years outdoors, screwed rather than tied. It is made to order rather than same day, because the panel is bonded and the lead time is confirmed with the quote.
400×300 mm and 600×450 mm cover most individual notices. 800×600 mm and 1200×900 mm are the usual entrance-board sizes, where several pictograms sit on one panel under a site name. We are not limited to these, but existing frames, clips and fixing patterns are built around them — so a non-standard size is worth choosing deliberately, not by accident.
ISO 7010 exists because a shape and a colour are understood before anyone reads. A red circle with a bar through it says do not to a person who has been on site for ten minutes and does not read English. That is not a design preference; it is the entire reason the standard was registered and harmonised.
The same logic decides the shape before the wording. Warning signs are a yellow triangle, mandatory signs a blue circle, fire safety signs a red rectangle — get the category right and the sign works at twenty metres; get it wrong and it reads as decoration.
We print what you send. If your artwork is text-only we will produce it exactly as supplied — but on a mixed site a pictogram does work that a sentence cannot, and it is worth knowing that before the inspection rather than after.
Send the pictogram as vector wherever you have it. Safety symbols are simple geometry, which means a low-resolution copy pulled off a web page shows its edges immediately at 600 mm wide. Vector artwork carries no resolution at all and scales to any size without loss.
We print, cut and finish. We do not install. That is worth saying plainly, because a signage company and a print company are different things and the difference usually surfaces at the wrong moment. Corner holes are drilled where you ask for them, positioned to your fixing centres if you tell us what they are.
Collection is available around the clock, and courier across Central London is within 1 hour of dispatch. For a set that has to be up before the morning briefing, send the files and payment by 21:00 and we will have them printed overnight — subject to capacity and the size of the run.
Replacing a sign that already exists on site? Photograph it with a tape measure in frame and tell us the board thickness. Matching the fixing pattern matters more than matching the exact shade, because a replacement that misses the existing holes gets drilled a second time.
