A development site prints in layers, and the product follows the length of the build: numbered hoarding panels on Dibond for the long builds or Correx for the short ones, safety and site signs the same day, and scaffold banners welded to the width of the elevation. Hoarding is made to order against an agreed date and delivered direct to site gates; two 7 m scaffold banners for a storefront in St James’s were paid for at 14:55 and ready the next day.
A developer rarely buys one sign. The site needs a hoarding that lasts as long as the build, notices that satisfy the people on site, a banner on the scaffold that sells or announces the scheme, and later the signs for the finished building. Each is a different product with a different lifespan, and the choice that matters first is how long the thing has to stay up. This page maps the layers to the pages that carry their detail. Our London print shop works through the night, so a site notice needed first thing is planned from the evening before.
Which product for which part of a site?
The length of the build chooses the hoarding board, and the elevation chooses the banner. The table maps each layer to its page.
| Layer | Product | The deciding fact |
|---|---|---|
| Perimeter hoarding, long build | Hoarding panels on Dibond | One continuous design split into numbered 2440 × 1220 mm panels, made to your elevation drawing against an agreed date, with anti-graffiti laminate where the street argues back |
| Perimeter hoarding, short build | Hoarding panels on Correx and Correx boards | Fluted polypropylene in 3.5, 4 and 5 mm; 3.5 mm is rated up to 6 months outdoors, 4 mm for 6–12 months and 5 mm for 12 months and beyond |
| Scaffold wrap or storefront banner | PVC banner | Hemmed with rust-proof eyelets every 50 cm; the roll is 150 cm wide, so a 7 × 2 m banner is welded from two panels; for high-wind elevations such as scaffolding the page recommends mesh |
| Site notices and safety signs | Safety signs | ISO 7010 pictograms or your own artwork, on Correx for outdoor site use or Foamex for indoor and sheltered positions; from 400 × 300 mm up to full entrance boards, drilled and ready to fix; same day, subject to capacity confirmed at quotation |
| The finished building | Wayfinding signs and shop signs | Both are made to order: wayfinding as one set packed in schedule order, shop signs starting with a survey of the fascia, wall, power and access |
Dibond or Correx for the hoarding?
Dibond for the long builds, Correx for the short ones, and the grade of Correx follows the months it has to last. Hoarding is made to order against an agreed date, and the panels arrive on site cut, numbered and ready for your contractor to fix. Single damaged panels reprint from the files we keep, and the panels are strapped and delivered direct to site gates. The construction hoarding page carries the specification, the artwork rules and the elevation-drawing requirements.
How fast can a scaffold banner be produced?
Two 7 m banners for a storefront scaffold were paid for at 14:55 and ready the next day; the ready time of any banner is confirmed at quotation. The case study records the stages. A banner wider than the 150 cm roll is welded from two panels. Send the size you need and say whether the elevation is windy; the banner page recommends mesh for high-wind elevations such as scaffolding.
What should a developer send for a hoarding order?
The elevation drawing, the agreed date and one continuous design. Anything beyond that — panel numbering, the laminate and the fixing — follows from the drawing and is set out on the product page.
- The elevation drawing — the hoarding is cut and numbered to it.
- The date the panels have to be on site, because the work is made to order against an agreed date.
- How long the build runs — it chooses Dibond or the Correx grade.
- The site address and the gate the panels are delivered to.
Q&A
Should hoarding graphics be Dibond or Correx?
Dibond suits the long builds and Correx the short ones. Correx comes in 3.5, 4 and 5 mm, rated up to 6 months, 6–12 months and 12 months and beyond outdoors, so the grade follows the months the hoarding has to last. See construction hoarding.
Can a single damaged hoarding panel be reprinted?
Yes: single damaged panels reprint from the files we keep, so the replacement is a reprint of the numbered panel rather than a new design.
Who prints scaffold banners next day in London?
Silver Image London prints PVC scaffold banners; two 7 m banners for a St James’s storefront were paid for at 14:55 and ready the next day, welded from two panels because the roll is 150 cm wide. The ready time is confirmed at quotation. See banner printing.
Can site safety signs be printed the same day?
Safety signs are same-day work, subject to capacity confirmed at quotation, on Correx for outdoor site use or Foamex for indoor and sheltered positions, with ISO 7010 pictograms or your own artwork, drilled and ready to fix. See safety signs.
Send the elevation, the date and the length of the build, and the quotation comes back with a ready time and a delivery plan for the site. The product pages above carry each item in detail, and the case studies record the stages and the outcome of each job.
Send us the site
Tell us the elevation, the date the panels have to be on site and the length of the build. We come back with a ready time, and we check the file’s size, bleed and fonts before anything goes on press.
