From a large-format press that does not close. A1 posters (594 × 841 mm) printed on satin, matt or tear-resistant polypropylene, or mounted on rigid Foamex — 24 hours a day in our own London facility. Files and payment in by 21:00 are normally ready before 9am, and daytime jobs are regularly delivered the same afternoon; a £95 minimum applies to work produced outside normal hours.

A1 sits in an awkward spot: big enough that a screen-resolution image falls apart, small enough that people assume any copy shop can do it. What actually decides the result is the stock, the mounting and whether the file was built at final size.

How sharp does the file need to be?

Resolution is measured at final size on the printed piece, not inside the file: an image built at a tenth of A1 and 300 dpi lands at 30 dpi once printed. For a poster read from a metre or two, 150 dpi at full size is comfortable. The arithmetic, with the numbers spelled out, is in our DPI guide for A0 posters — the same rule scales down to A1.

Where do A1 posters get delivered?

Rolled in tubes by motorbike when speed matters, flat by van when they are mounted. The regular routes run into EC1–EC4, W1, WC1–WC2, E14 and SW1 — offices, galleries, venues and hotels. District detail for the City and Canary Wharf is on their own pages, and the wider poster range on same-day A0 and A1 poster printing.

Send the file to info@silverimagelondon.com with the size, the deadline and the delivery address — or use WeTransfer for anything large. A problem spotted at 21:00 costs nothing; the same problem at 07:00 costs the deadline, so thirty seconds in our free preflight checker is worth it — it reads the file in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Can you print A1 posters overnight and deliver before 9am?

Yes. This is a common request — files and payment by 21:00 give the highest chance of a before-9am finish.

Do you deliver A1 posters to the City or Canary Wharf the same day?

Yes. Same-day and early-morning runs into EC, E14, SW1, W1 and WC are routine.

Can I get A1 posters mounted on foam board the same day?

Yes, subject to capacity. We mount on 3 mm and 5 mm Foamex in the same building.

What resolution does an A1 poster need?

150 dpi at final size is comfortable for normal viewing distance. What matters is the resolution on the printed piece, not the number in the file.

Is there a minimum charge for overnight A1 posters?

Yes. Work produced outside normal hours carries a £95 minimum plus courier.
