The first banner printing on our large-format printer, filmed on Friday at about 20:05. About three minutes of printing, sped up 15 times. The design in the footage carries Dell Technologies, Intel and Windows 11 branding. Click the video or press Enter to pause it.

The brief: six pull-up banners for a Sunday event, asked on a Friday evening

The enquiry came from an events agency ordering for a technology company’s event in London, in a single email at 18:08 on Friday 2 October. The enquiry asked for six pull-up banners, said that mock-ups were attached so we could see the format and finish, and named the delivery: Sunday 4 October, to a hotel in Kensington (SW5). Two questions came with it. Was Sunday delivery feasible, and what would the quote be for six banners including production and delivery? The sender added that the final visuals would follow at once and that payment would be made as soon as we confirmed.

A pull-up banner is also sold as a roller banner or a roll-up banner; it is one product with three names, and our invoice for this job calls it a Roller Banner (Pull-up). If you are choosing between the terms, our guide to the roll-up, pull-up and roller banner difference sets them side by side. The product itself is on our pull-up banner printing page, and the delivery was for the Kensington side of London, where they were delivered.

Three designs, two banners of each

The artwork arrived at 18:59 as three print-ready PDFs, with the instruction that each design was needed twice. The artwork is why six banners means three designs of two: one design is one file, and the number of copies of each is stated alongside it. The same email asked us to confirm that the size was correct and that delivery would be on Sunday. The designs carried Dell Technologies branding alongside partner marks such as Intel and Windows 11, as the footage above shows.

For your own order, a print-ready PDF per design at the finished size is what keeps a Friday-evening job moving; the formats we work from are set out in our guide to what file format to send for printing.

What was ordered: 850 × 2000 mm in premium blockout PVC

In short: Silver Image Print & Signs printed six pull-up banners in London, each 850 × 2000 mm in premium blockout PVC with a full colour latex print and a padded carry bag, as three designs of two banners each. The invoice for the job gives the specification in one line: 850 × 2000 mm, premium blockout PVC, full colour latex print, padded carry bag included, six pieces. A second line carried the London courier for the delivery.

From enquiry to production: the timeline

Every time below is London time (BST), taken from our mailbox and from the order record. The banners were printed on Friday evening and marked ready on Sunday afternoon; the delivery is the one the courier recorded.

On this six-banner order, the quote reached the client 16 minutes after the enquiry, payment came 46 minutes after the first email, the artwork 51 minutes after it, and our confirmation that the pull-up banners were in production 61 minutes after it. The two steps that were still open after the quote was accepted were the payment and the artwork, and on this job both were in within the first hour.

Delivering pull-up banners to a Kensington hotel on a Sunday

The delivery was part of the quote from the first email: the brief named the day and the destination, the invoice carries a London courier line for it, and the courier recorded the delivery as completed at 16:08 on the Sunday. In short: the six pull-up banners were delivered to a hotel in Kensington (SW5) at 16:08 on Sunday 4 October 2026, the day the client had asked for. This case study is not a guarantee of weekend availability or turnaround. How a delivery is planned from the print shop to the door is explained in our guide to how print delivery works in London, and the same-day side of banner work is covered in the guide to same-day roller banner printing.

What to tell us when urgent pull up banners are needed for the weekend

For event banner printing in London at short notice, these are the details that let us quote the same evening:

  • How many designs, and how many banners of each. Here, six banners were three designs of two. Put both numbers in the first email.
  • The finished size in millimetres, and what comes with it. This job was 850 × 2000 mm with a padded carry bag.
  • The venue, the date and the day of the week. A Sunday delivery needs to be in the brief, not agreed afterwards.
  • The artwork as print-ready PDFs, one per design. On this job the mock-ups came with the enquiry and the print-ready PDFs followed.
  • The company the invoice should be made out to. Say so before the invoice is issued, so that it is right when the payment link is used.

The banners were printed at our London print shop. Work that has to be turned round against the clock is covered by 24 hour printing, and larger event pieces such as stands and panels by exhibition graphics.
