DPI, Print Size & Artwork Resolution Checker
Check whether your JPG, PNG, WebP or TIFF file has enough resolution for professional printing — from A6 flyers up to A0 posters. Your artwork never leaves your device — files are analysed locally in your browser and are never uploaded, so confidential artwork stays exactly where it is.
Pixel sizes needed for each paper size
Minimum pixels for 300 DPI (sharp in-hand print) and 150 DPI (large-format viewed from a distance), portrait orientation:
| Size | Millimetres | 300 DPI | 150 DPI |
|---|---|---|---|
| A0 | 841 × 1189 | 9,933 × 14,043 px | 4,967 × 7,022 px |
| A1 | 594 × 841 | 7,016 × 9,933 px | 3,508 × 4,967 px |
| A2 | 420 × 594 | 4,961 × 7,016 px | 2,480 × 3,508 px |
| A3 | 297 × 420 | 3,508 × 4,961 px | 1,754 × 2,480 px |
| A4 | 210 × 297 | 2,480 × 3,508 px | 1,240 × 1,754 px |
| A5 | 148 × 210 | 1,748 × 2,480 px | 874 × 1,240 px |
| A6 | 105 × 148 | 1,240 × 1,748 px | 620 × 874 px |
DPI (dots per inch) is simply pixels divided by physical print size. 300 DPI is the standard for material read at arm’s length; banners and posters viewed from a few metres stay sharp at 150 DPI or below. Acceptable resolution always depends on viewing distance, artwork type and the quality of the source image.
Once your artwork passes preflight, it can be printed the same day: large format printing for A0–A2 work, poster printing up to A0, banner printing for outdoor and event graphics, or our 24 hour printing service when the deadline is tonight. Rigid work — Foamex boards, Dibond panels — and document printing follow the same rule: a file that passes preflight prints right first time.
